COUNTY – Gov. Tony Evers sent a letter on May 22 to President Donald Trump asking for disaster declaration for the spring storms and flooding in April that has caused more than $27 million in damages.
In the letter, Evers listed hail, tornadoes, straight-line winds and flooding that affected 1,570 residential properties in 19 counties.
“Federal support is essential to helping communities rebuild and recover, and I’m urging the president to meet this moment with the urgency it requires,” wrote Evers.
The letter mentioned public damages of more than $1.4 million in Outagamie County and $2 million in Waupaca County.
