Johnson fills vacant council seat

Posted

CLINTONVILLE – Duke Johnson has joined the Clintonville Common Council representing District 3 effective Sept. 8.

The seat on the council that Johnson is filling was vacant for several months.

Johnson expressed interested in filling the vacancy on the council in an Aug. 17 letter to Clintonville Mayor Jeannie Schley and members of the council.

In the letter, Johnson said he is currently employed at Seagrave Fire Apparatus as an IT technician I, and holds a bachelor of science in economics from UW-Madison.

“I previously served as the member-elected Financial Officer of Madison Community Cooperative, where I helped oversee an approximately $2 million annual budget serving about 300 tenant-members across 15 houses,” Johnson stated in the letter. “That experience strengthened my ability to evaluate financial decisions, communicate with people holding different views, and work collaboratively toward practical solutions.”
