Local mosaic artist finds her happy place in Waushara County

Posted

Pam Gardner, out of Mount Morris, brings mosaic art to life. She got hooked on glass art when she was invited to Neshkoro and received her first batch of free glass.
She started working and cutting the material, and over time, it has become her new passion project.
Gardner is a retired first-grade teacher from Duluth, MN, and has been a member of the Rural Rembrandt Art Club of Waushara County for four years. The club welcomes artists of all media, including glass, painting, embroidery, and other art forms.
Gardner also shared her skills with the mural in the community center where the Rembrandt club meets, tying her passion for art directly to the local community.
Before settling in Mount Morris, Gardner lived in several places. After losing their Arkansas home to a fire, they rebuilt and sold the property and moved to Bozeman, MT, where her daughter lives. There, she would volunteer to help feed individuals at the homeless shelter.
Later, the family would move to Spokane, WA, but eventually Pam relocated to the Waushara County area with her husband Jim. Gardner noted that living around Wautoma reveals several hidden treasures. After purchasing their home in the Town of Mount Morris, she shares that they have made wonderful friends and found their happy place, bringing her journey full circle to where her passion for mosaic art now thrives.
