WAUPACA – The city is working on a new trail within the city center that will feature five of the city’s parks along the way.
The trail will be called the Teal Trail, similar to the Ice Age Trail, there will be teal markers to help guide people throughout the 1.33 mile loop.
There will also be “you are here” signs along with the trail markers.
The parks that will be featured along the trail will be Washington Park, Nels Rasmussen Park, Rotary Riverview Park, Schwenn Lions Park (Hidden Park) and Serenity Park.
Laura Colbert, Director of Parks and Recreation, said the trail is designed to expand and evolve as there are future improvements, as well as the construction of the new pedestrian bridge is completed.
Colbert said she is working with Justin Berrens, the Director of Public Works, to beautify crosswalks as the parks and recreation staff continues working on getting the trail ready.
“There are a lot of opportunities to create a really fun walking path through the city, for both residents and visitors and highlight five of our beautiful parks,” Colbert said.
