Pier project moves forward

Posted

IOLA - A $5,000 donation from the Krause Foundation has moved the American Legion Sheveland-Taylor Post 14’s fishing pier project closer to its $25,000 fundraising goal.
The pier is planned for American Legion Sheveland-Taylor Post 14 Veteran Memorial Park on the shores of Lake Iola.
“It’s exciting to see all the donations coming in,” said Holly Neumann, who is leading the project. “There is definitely a lot of interest.”
Neumann said the pier is intended to serve people of all ages.
“Anglers will be able to fish without a boat, and veterans will have a space for reflection and relaxation, while enjoying the lake,” she said. “The pier will also serve as a gathering space for community events and everyday connections.”

Additional funding is still needed to complete the project. Donation levels are:
• Diamond: $10,000 and above
• Emerald: $5,000 to $9,999
• Platinum: $2,500 to $4,999
• Gold: $1,000 to $2,499
• Silver: $500 to $999
• Bronze: $100 to $499
• Quartz: $99 and below
Contributions may be mailed to American Legion Post 14, P.O. Box 67, Iola, WI 54945. Donors are asked to write “Pier Project” in the memo line of their checks.
