Posted

STEVENS POINT — The Stevens Point Panthers delivered a comprehensive 35-0 shutout victory over the Eau Claire Memorial Old Abes. Powered by an explosive passing attack and an opportunistic defense that forced four turnovers, the Panthers controlled the game from start to finish to improve to 8-1 on the season.

Quarterback Braeden Jankowski was efficient and lethal through the air, completing 16 of his 23 pass attempts for 285 yards and three touchdowns without throwing an interception.

Jankowski’s primary target was Logan Cisewski, who hauled in four receptions for 73 yards and two touchdowns, including a highlight-reel 63-yard touchdown strike. Trent Chandonais added a 14-yard touchdown reception, while senior Will Firkus anchored the receiving core with six catches for a team-high 100 yards.

On the ground, Stevens Point tallied 117 rushing yards as C.J. Haas led the ground effort with 55 yards and a touchdown on four carries, while Cisewski added a short touchdown run to cap off his multi-score night.

While the offense put up points, the Panthers’ defense delivered a master class performance, holding Eau Claire Memorial completely scoreless and allowing just 151 total yards of offense.

The secondary completely shut down the Old Abes’ passing game, picking off four passes on the night. Trent Chandonais stood out on both sides of the ball, grabbing three interceptions and Bennett Mansavage added the fourth interception of the night.

Linebacker play was equally dominant, led by Henry Roth and Tony Raczek, who recorded nine tackles each.

The SPASH Panthers will face Appleton North at home in the opening round of the playoffs.
