Waupaca hand Denmark their first loss

Waupaca Comets went on the road to take on the 6-0 Denmark Vikings on April 16.

Waupaca rematched Denmark after a home loss just two days earlier against the Vikings, and the Comets were looking to be the first team to add a loss to their record.

John Zeamer drove in Max Dolski to get the scoring started in the first inning with a double to left field. Jay Card drove in the second run with a ground-out RBI as Ollie Waller came home to score, and Zeamer scored after Reed Rogers reached on an error, giving the Comets a 3-0 lead.

Neither team could put another run on the board, as Dolski recorded a complete game shutout, allowing only five hits and three strikeouts to get the win and remove Denmark from the ranks of the unbeaten teams.
