Weyauwega celebrates 250 years

WEYAUWEGA - The City of Weyauwega will expand the Independence Day holiday celebration for the nation’s 250th anniversary.
A parade organized by the Weyauwega Area Chamber of Commerce will start at Maasch Park and proceed through downtown Main Street on July 3 at 3 p.m. There will be many veterans in the parade riding in the cars and on floats and a busload of veterans will join the parade from the veteran’s home in King. The parade will feature classic and custom cars, motorcycles, ATVs, tractors and horses.
Vehicles will then be parked inside the Waupaca County Fairgrounds for a car show from 4-7 p.m. At the car show there will be bingo at 4:30 p.m. and food and drink tents run by local non-profits. There will be DJ music from 4-9 p.m. and the fireworks show will start at dusk at the fairgrounds.
More info and parade registration forms can be found at weyauwegachamber.org or on their Facebook page. There is no fee for entering your vehicle in the parade or show. There will be prize plaques for different categories for both the parade and vehicle show. The entire event is free to the public.
The first Weyauwega Car show presented by the Weyauwega Area Chamber and Wega Arts, August 5, 2021. In 2021 the Weyauwega Area Chamber of Commerce and Wega Arts joined forces to bring new activity into Weyauwega after a year of COVID lockdowns. The two organizations worked together to promote and organize the new event. Main Street was filled with cars. The film American Graffiti was screened at the Gerold Opera House to close out the day.
