Amherst girls gut out a win behind Ivy Boelk’s double-double

Posted

The Amherst Falcons took on Westby in sectional play on Feb. 24 at home in a low scoring affair.

In a defensive battle where every possession mattered, the Amherst Falcons secured a hard-fought 30–23 win over the Westby Norsemen. The low-scoring contest was defined by gritty rebounding, turnovers, and resilience at the free-throw line rather than offensive rhythm.

Ivy Boelk had the standout performance of the night as she had a double-double scoring 11 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.

Hollie Singer contributed nine points and eight rebounds as they closed out the win to advance Amherst to the regional final.

Amherst continued to struggle scoring in the next round of the playoffs only scoring 25 points. This time the defense couldn’t slow their opposition down as they lost to Bonduel by a score of 62-25.
