• March 23 – A woman reported she received a fraudulent call where the caller stated her juvenile relative was in a car accident. She gave the caller her address but no other information.
• March 23 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a juvenile resident was self gratifying himself in front of a female staff member.
• March 23 – The Portage County Sheriff’s Office reported a car accident where a vehicle was hauling furniture, the furniture came loose and fell into the roadway and was hit by a Buick.
• March 23 – A male caller reported two suspicious young men that asked him to give them a ride to Waupaca. He said they seemed jumpy.
• March 23 – A female caller reported a man was going to “blow his head off.” She said he has access to firearms.
• March 23 – A man reported nine people were shooting guns with spotlights south of Butternut Road near Manawa. There was approximately 30-35 shots fire. He said there were deer in a field.
• March 24 – A man stopped in the lobby of the sheriff’s office and reported that back in December his wife pulled a gun on him and tried to kill him.
• March 24 – A woman reported that there was a man next door wearing camouflage that was standing on a shack in the backyard. He watched her walk into her house.
• March 24 – Neuville Motors in Waupaca reported a woman tried writing a fraudulent check.
• March 24 – A woman reported she heard something fall off the fridge and that someone might be in her house and she suspected the person was trying to cut off the electricity or burn the place down.
• March 25 – A man reported he was defrauded out of $1,998 be a person claiming to be from Chase Bank.
• March 26 – Waupaca Radio 96.3 FM reported a man sent them a video message. His behavior was erratic and he spoke of America and that he was better off not being here.
• March 26 – The owner of a local campground reported getting an email from a person that said there were vehicles at the campground at 11:15 p.m. and things were flying through the air.
• March 26 – A woman reported her husband tried to hit her with his truck.
• There were five deer-related calls during this period. Fourteen controlled burns were called in; some were for boiling down maple sap into syrup. A woman reported a blue heeler pup was running amuck in the roadway. A caller on Klatt Road reported a neighbor had three dogs and they often ran wild in the yards of other neighbors. ThedaCare Waupaca reported a man was bitten by a neighbor’s dog.
