The Waupaca Comets went to Menasha on April 10, looking for their first win of the 2026 season.
Waupaca took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning as John Zeamer flew to right field to bring Max Dolski in for a run.
Menasha tied up the game as a sacrifice fly brought in the run to make it a 1-1 game.
In the third inning, Menasha scored five runs to take a 6-1 lead as they began by stealing home, and followed it up with a double that led to three RBI’s and a single that brought in the final run of the inning.
In the fourth inning, Waupaca responded when Dolski doubled to right field as Carson Jameson and Nate Sherman scored. Ollie Waller followed it up with a ground ball single that brought Dolski home and made the deficit 6-4 at the end of the inning.
In the sixth inning, the Comets continued on their comeback as Max Olson scored on a loaded bases walk, and a single by Zeamer drove in Jacob Durrant to tie the game 6-6. Jay Card gave Waupaca the lead with a single to left field to bring Dolski home and make the score 7-6.
Later in the inning, Waller would score on a wild pitch, and Zeamer would score after a fielder’s choice to bring the Waupaca lead to 9-6.
The Menasha bats went cold after the third inning as the Comets closed out the game by a score of 9-6, as Waupaca got its first win of the season.
