Cost is $10,850

CLINTONVILLE – The Clintonville Board of Education has approved spending $10,850 for the creation of five videos as part of its referendum communications plan.
The approval came at the board’s Oct. 13 meeting.
The district will work with Dean Leisgang, CESA 8 director of Communications, to create the videos.
The first video will be a District Identity Video, which will cost the district $4,250. According to information provided by Leisgang to the board, this video offers district residents a“glimpse into student opportunities, growth, and success, fostering community pride.”
The three to five-minute video will include classroom footage of students and teachers interacting, as well as interviews.

The second video is a Referendum Explainer Video that will cost the district $3,600. According to information provided by Leisgang, this video will simplify complex topics, such as the school funding formula and its impact.
This would also be a three to five-minute video that “provides a snapshot of the key areas of the referendum.”
The remaining three videos will be Referendum Snapshots videos. Each of these videos cost $1,000, and the district must do a minimum of three of these videos. The videos “are short, impactful videos that address key talking points of the referendum or answer frequently asked questions.”
The snapshot videos would feature a single person. Each video would be filmed on location and will be up to one minute in length.
Discussion
During the discussion, Board Treasurer Jason Moder asked what the plan would be for the videos.
Clintonville Superintendent Troy Kuhn said the videos would be uploaded to YouTube, and then they would be shared on social media and the district’s website.
“The more people who have the facts, the better,” Kuhn said.
Board member Christopher Hoffmann asked when the videos would go live if the board approved having them created.
Kuhn said the goal would be for the District Identity Video to be near completion by the end of October or beginning of November.
The completion of the remaining videos would depend on whether the district goes ahead with asking its residents to support an operational referendum on the April ballot. If the district would decide to ask for approval of an operational referendum, the remaining videos would need to be completed after January.
