TOWN OF DAYTON — On Saturday evening, May 2, Waupaca County Sheriff deputies responded to a 911 call at a Pine Lane residence in the Town of Dayton. A man said there was an extremely intoxicated woman at his home that was hard to handle. He also requested an ambulance because of a person slipping and falling on broken glass.
Deputy Ernstmeyer heard screaming upon arrival. He entered, announced his presence, and found a naked woman and a man with his arms wrapped around her as she tried to pull away. He thanked the deputy for showing up and explained the woman was trying to enter a bathroom filled with broken glass.
Ernstmeyer escorted the woman, Cora Jean Strong, 32, who reeked of alcohol, outside onto the deck. He placed her in a lawn chair and requested a blanket while Strong shouted obscenities at the man.
According to the criminal complaint, she was described as incoherent, uncooperative and screaming continuously.
Strong kicked away the blanket used to cover her up. The man provided clothing but she refused to put anything on, determined to remain nude. Ernstmeyer struggled to keep her covered while Strong kicked him. EMS arrived and she kicked at them, too.
“I’m going to [expletive] shoot you,” Strong said many times to the deputy.
With assistance from another deputy and the EMS crew, Strong was handcuffed, put on a soft carrier and stretcher and loaded into the ambulance and taken to ThedaCare Waupaca.
Strong was charged with two counts of threatening to cause bodily harm to an individual involved with a court or legal system, one count of battery to a public officer and one count of public disorderly conduct.
