CLINTONVILLE – Madalyn Simonis has resigned from her position as principal at Clintonville Elementary School, effective June 30.
The Clintonville Board of Education accepted Simonis’ resignation at a special board meeting, June 17. The approved acceptance of the resignation was subject to the Breach of Contract terms in her administrator contract.
Clintonville Superintendent Troy Kuhn told the board that Simonis resigned to take a similar position within the school district that she lives in and her children attend, which is the New London School District.
When contacted by the Clintonville Tribune-Gazette, Kuhn said via email that Simonis was under contract through June 30, 2027, and “contractual is $3,000 breach of contract.”
He also stated in the email, “Madalyn is a true leader that understands leadership in various capacities and how it varies depending on the situation. She truly excels at shared responsibilities, yet individual expectations for the betterment of the group and organization. I additionally recommended that she continue her education so she can be a future leader of a school district.”
The district has received applications for the vacant elementary school principal position, Kuhn said. He added that he would like to have a hire recommendation before the July 13 school board meeting.
