The Hortonville Polar Bears traveled to Millington, Tennessee, to open their season in a four-team tournament capped off by Eastland on March 31.
Jack Tennie got the scoring going for the Polar Bears, as he drove in two runs on a single to center field to make the score 2-0 in the top of the first inning.
Connor Christensen extended the lead with a double in the same inning that drove in three runners to make the score 5-0.
Tennie drove in two more runners in the second inning, as he singled out to left field to make the score 7-0.
In the bottom of the second inning, Eastland scored their first run with a ground out that drove in a run made the score 7-1 and scored again in the third inning to make the score 7-2.
A sacrifice fly from Hortonville gave them the 8-2 lead, and an RBI single by Elijah Yaeger made it an 8-2 lead.
In the fifth inning, a wild pitch brought in another run, and Isaac Behnke scored on a groundout RBI to make the lead 11-2.
Eastland made the deficit on the scoreboard 11-4 in the fifth inning, with back-to-back runs.
Yeager capped off the win in the top of the seventh inning with a two-run home run to make the final score 13-4.
