Man arrested for child porn

And growing pot in basement

IOLA — Robert T. Vanzeeland, 33, of Iola, is facing 10 felony counts of possession of child pornography after investigators traced illegal uploads on Google Drive back to his family’s residence, according to a criminal complaint.
He was arrested April 7, 2026, following a multi-agency investigation triggered by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The investigation began April 1 when Detective Sergeant Steve Kincaid of the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office received a cyber tip from the Wisconsin Internet Crimes Against Children taskforce.
Google had reported child pornography being uploaded to a Google Drive account on Feb. 2, 2026. Technical data provided by Google and subsequent subpoenas to TDS Telecom linked the account’s activity to an IP address assigned to a residence on Highway 49 in Iola.
His birth date matched the information provided by Google. Search warrants executed at the residence led to the discovery of descriptions for one image and nine videos of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct. The material depicted prepubescent and pubescent females in various states of undress and sexual activity.
Some of the content appeared to be self-produced, while other files showed signs of being directed or professionally produced. During the search for electronic devices, investigators also discovered a marijuana grow operation in the basement. Law enforcement halted the initial search to obtain additional legal authorization, eventually seizing dozens of marijuana plants. The drug-related findings are being handled as a separate case.
