CLINTONVILLE – According to a criminal complaint filed on Nov. 21, Courtland D. Fritz, 61, and Lorrenda A. Fritz, 57, of Clintonville have been charged with numerous drug-related offenses after the execution of a search warrant at their residence.
Both of the Courtlands are charged with possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a drug trafficking place, possess/illegally obtained prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Waupaca and Clintonville Police Departments, executed a “knock and announce” residential search warrant at Fritz’s residence on W.13th Street at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 19. The search warrant was initially sought to recover collector coins stolen in a burglary, which a suspect had reportedly left at the residence.
Courtland Fritz opened the front door and was detained along with three other occupants: Lorrenda Fritz and two other people.
Investigators found two gem baggies containing a crystalline, rocklike substance inside a metal canister on a living room table. The substances tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine, with weights of 1.46 grams and 1.17 grams. This cannister was next to a pill bottle listing Courtland’s name. Courtland Fritz claimed the canister belonged to him, but stated the substances belonged to Lorrenda.
They also found a black grinder and a digital scale in the kitchen, and a metallic tube/pipe with a blue tip on the living room table. There were also scales, numerous gem bags, and needles throughout the residence.
They also found four loose prescription-only Meloxicam pills in the kitchen. It is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) to treat various types of arthritis.
