Stevens Point Legion eliminated in AAA regional

STEVENS POINT-The Stevens Point Sixers hosted the Class AAA tournament that was held July 21-24 at Bukolt Park .

July 21

The Plover Black Sox took the early lead with a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the third inning to give them a 1-0 lead.

In the top of the fourth inning, the Sixers took the lead with an RBI single by AJ O’Brien and a two-run ground out that gave them a 3-1 advantage.

Plover regained the lead in the fourth inning, with four RBI’s off of three hits and a sacrifice fly that drove in the fifth run of the inning to make the score 6-3.

The Sixers had two runners reach home on an error, and a single by Noah Przekurat gave Stevens Point the 7-6 lead in the fifth inning.

Plover tied the game at 7-7 in the bottom of the fifth inning with a line drive single.

Stevens Point took back the lead in the sixth inning with a bases-loaded walk that made the score 8-7, and a two-run RBI ground out made the score 10-7 as the Sixers got the victory.

July 22

Wisconsin Rapids 3,
Stevens Point 1

In the bottom of the first inning, the Wisconsin Rapids Rangers took the lead with an RBI single that made the score 1-0.

In the second inning, the Rangers hit a sacrifice fly RBI and a one- RBI single to give them the 3-0 lead.

Stevens Point cut into the lead to make it a 3-1 deficit with an RBI single in the top of the third inning.

Neither team could score any more runs, and the game ended 3-1 with Wisconsin Rapids securing the win.

July 23

Plover went up 2-0 in the third inning with a two-run single and took a 3-0 lead with a run in the fourth inning.

Stevens Point scored on a double with a one-run RBI to make the deficit 3-1 and drove in a run with a single to make it a 3-2 game.

The Black Sox drove in a run with an RBI single to extend the lead to 4-2.

Stevens Point singled in the top of the sixth inning to make the score 4-3.

Once again, the Black Sox extended the lead with a ground-out RBI to make the score 5-3 and finished the game to eliminate the Sixer from the tournament.
