Stevens Point Police Report

• November 14 – Officers met with a man to take a harassment complaint. After investigating the matter, a man was cited for harassment and trespassed from the property where the incident occurred.
• November 14 – A woman reported that a man with a rusted and tan minivan came to her Ellis Street residence, handed her a bottle of Dawn dish soap, and then asked her to come out to his van for “an honest review.” The woman stated she declined and shut her door. She reported she had video evidence of the incident.
• November 14 – An officer was informed a female struck another student in the south commons at Stevens Point Area Senior High School.
• November 14 – A parent of a Bannach Elementary School student reported his son was punched at school. The parent stated he doesn’t trust the school will handle it properly and wanted the incident documented.
• November 14 – Officers were dispatched to Olympia on Division Street for a report of a child that ran away. Upon arrival, officers gathered information and the child was safely located.
• November 15 – A man called to report intoxicated college kids were allegedly in his yard and yelling. The man told dispatch the intoxicated college kids threatened him and said they would “beat his [expletive].” The man had video footage of the incident.
• November 15 – Officers were dispatched to Fifth Avenue for a potential trespasser. Dispatch informed officers of yelling and thumping that could be heard inside the residence. After investigating the matter, a citation for trespassing was issued.
• November 15 – A man reported receiving a phone call that informed him he missed jury duty and needed to make a payment to avoid jail time. The man was directed to the Bitcoin machine on Highway 10 where he began creating an account. An employee of the business where the Bitcoin machine is located intervened before any personal information had been given away.
• November 15 – A caller from Soo Marie Avenue reported his Ruger handgun was missing from his vehicle.
November 16 – A hit and run was reported in the area of Maria and Isadore Street. The suspect is believed to be driving a light blue SUV and described as a man in his mid-twenties with a dark beard.
• November 16 – A man was advised to not return to Kwik Trip on Church Street for the rest of the evening due to “creeping out other females and staff.”
November 17 – Officers were advised of a homeless man sleeping in Mead Park who had an active warrant. Officers made contact with the man who was sleeping on the ground. Officers confirmed the warrant and arrested him.
• November 17 – A third-party informant informed security at the Stevens Point Library that someone might have a rifle inside the building. No one was seen with a rifle, but the third party provided a name of an individual inside the library.
• November 17 – A woman reported her neighbor was trespassing onto her property and dumping leaves into her yard. She stated the neighbor also intentionally drives on the side of the road she walks on.
• November 17 – A caller who was walking with her son, reported seeing a man urinating on the side of Frame Memorial Church.
• November 17 – A man reported his neighbor has been confronting him about how his girlfriend was staying at the man’s apartment with her dog. The neighbor allegedly films that man, knocked on his door, and claims to want to fight the man.
• November 18 – Officers were informed by a third party that a man made claims about wanting to “burn the Salvation Army down to the ground.” The man who allegedly made these claims is in jail. Officers made contact with the man who denied the claims.
• November 18 – A man was caught stealing items from Kwik Trip on Maria Drive. An employee confronted the man who did not pay for all the items he was leaving the store with. The man was then trespassed from Kwik Trip.
• November 18 – A student turned over a nicotine vape at Ben Franklin Junior High School.
• November 19 – Officers were dispatched to the area of Portage and Division Street for reports of a man walking in the road and up people’s driveways while shouting.
• November 20 – A woman reported she was walking her dog at Bukolt Park when a vehicle full of high school boys began saying racial slurs toward her and made fun of her dog. The woman followed the vehicle of high school boys to Kwik Trip where she parked their vehicle in. The vehicle of high school boys then backed into her, but caused no damage to either vehicle.
• November 20 – Stevens Point and UWSP officers were dispatched to the area of Illinois Avenue and Maria Drive for a report of a man attempting to break into a vehicle, threatening both occupants, and striking on occupant in the head.
