• Jan. 26 – A driver violated a red traffic signal, and upon contact the driver told the officer he had been back-tracking his patch to locate a cross country ski that fell out of his truck.
• Jan. 26 – A welfare check was completed on a homeless man in a bar. The man had a probation conditions that did not allow him to be in bars. He stated he would find housing for the night.
• Jan. 26 – A hit and run was reported to have occurred at Church Street and Francis Street. The driver of the hit-and-run vehicle was located in Whiting, which led to the driver receiving several citations.
• Jan. 27 – Officers responded to the UWSP Science Building to assist UWSP officers with a welfare check on a female. She was given a ride to the hospital.
• Jan. 27 – Officers conducted a welfare check on a woman. She stated she is running out of water. Officers then contacted the ADRC and the building’s maintenance.
• Jan. 28 – A juvenile referral was completed for a student at Bannach Elementary School after an altercation ensued.
• Jan. 28 – A caller believed that numerous people wanted to beat him up; however, the caller could not or would not say who these individuals were. The caller was advised to stop upsetting others.
• Jan. 28 – Officers were dispatched to Fourth and Union Street for a report of road rage. The caller stated they were involved in a road rage incident that included both parties exiting their vehicles. The caller stated the other driver smelled like alcohol. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the suspected intoxicated driver. The driver was then arrested for OWI 4th Offense among multiple other charges.
• Jan. 28 – A SPASH student reported their vehicle’s back windshield shattered due to the cold temperatures.
• Jan. 28 – A suspicious male refused to leave the Cobblestone Hotel. He stated he had money to pay in cash, but the building did not accept cash. He ultimately left when asked. An additional report was made on the same male three hours later stating he had been walking around vehicles by the Cobblestone Hotel. He stated he was just looking for somewhere warm.
• Jan. 29 – Officers conducted a warrant service for a man at a Woodland Circle address.
• Jan. 29 – Officers took a vandalism report for a banner that was ripped down at St. Stephen’s Elementary School.
• Jan. 29 – A caller stated she paid $475 for an iPad over Facebook Marketplace but never received the product.
• Jan. 29 – A large white pickup truck, described as having bright lights, followed a female around for a few blocks. The woman stated she did not know who it could be and thought it was suspicious.
• Jan. 29 – A 4-year-old child was watching prank call videos on YouTube and decided to prank call the police.
• Jan. 30 – A man with possible frostbite was transported for medical treatment from the Kwik Trip on Maria Drive.
• Jan. 30 – A report of fraud was completed at Community First Bank on Highway 10.
• Jan. 30 – A three-vehicle crash occurred at Michigan Avenue and Heffron Street.
• Jan. 30 – Officers responded to Alder Street for a call about suspicious behavior. Officers determined it was a salesman.
• Jan. 31 – An individual reported they accidentally took a vehicle that was not his the night before. He stated he attempted to contact the owner but was unsuccessful. He left the vehicle and its keys at the police department.
• Jan. 31 – A welfare check was conducted on two “very intoxicated” males on Amber Avenue.
• Jan. 31 – A single-vehicle crash near the interaction of Union Street and Fourth Avenue led to the arrest of a man for OWI 1st Offense and Possession of Cocaine.
• Feb. 1 – A group of friends were hanging out at a Jefferson Street address and drinking together. An intoxicated male became very aggressive towards his female friend. The female’s fiancé then got into a physical fight with the intoxicated male. The fiancé detained the intoxicated male until law enforcement arrived.
• Feb. 1 – Officers responded to Forest Street for a death investigation. The deceased was transported by Pisarski Funeral Home.
• Feb. 1 – A complaint about a suspicious male staying at Kwik Trip on Maria Drive led to the homeless male receiving a ride to a warming shelter.
• Feb. 1 – A call about someone knocking and breaking the glass of an apartment foyer led to the arrest of a man for Criminal Damage to Property, Disorderly Conduct, and Criminal Trespass to Dwelling.
