CLINTONVILLE – The Clintonville Board of Education agreed to have the district continue to offer Trucker University in the district, but that the district discontinue transportation services for the program.
Included with that approval, the board stipulated that Trucker University would focus on homework help and student support for academic success and would not be used for playing games.
By not providing transportation services for Trucker University participants, Kuhn said the district would save $17,000-$20,000 in Fund 80-Community Services.
The future of the program came into question recently, as the district analyzed expenses in its budget, particularly expenses in Fund 80.
Leading off the discussion, Clintonville Superintendent Troy Kuhn told the board that the district’s administrative team recommended that the district continue to offer Trucker University, but without transportation services. The recommendation also included that the program be offered on a probationary basis.
