Posted

TOWN OF CARSON — On July 21, a woman was found stabbed to death in her Town of Carson home.
According to Sheriff Mike Lukas, a woman went to the home of Jeanette Pientka around 10:57 a.m. to perform a service to the residence. The woman found Pientka deceased in the front hall way of the home with significant injuries.
Shortly after law enforcement and EMS arrived on the scene, Pientka was determined to be deceased.
On July 22, two individuals were taken into custody regarding the homicide. Lyndon B. Hood, 60, and Sara M. Pientka, 46, were arrested in connection to the death of Jeanette Pientka. Lukas confirmed suspect Sara Pientka is the sister of the victim, Jeanette.
The Wisconsin State Crime Lab worked on the scene in the Town of Carson. Additionally, an autopsy of the victim has already been completed which shows she suffered 11 stab wounds.
The suspects were located in the Town of Carson, with one suspect only located one mile away from the victim’s residence and the other suspect located approximately five miles away. “We utilized cameras in the area which really assisted us in this investigation,” Lukas said.
Hood is being held on a $1 million bond and facing a charge of first degree intentional homicide.
Pientka was initially being held on a $500,000 bond, however during a July 27 court hearing her bond was modified to a $5,000 signature bond with a $1,000 cash component. Pientka’s charges were also lessened at this time, to one count of resisting or obstructing an officer and one count of failing to report a crime. Both charges are misdemeanors in the state of Wisconsin. Pientka has pleaded not guilty to her charges.
Hood will be back in Portage County court on Aug. 31 and Pientka will be back in court on Sept. 14.
The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Detective Sergeant Porter at the Portage County Sheriff’s Office at 715-346-1400.
