Commission advances Business 51 reconstruction

STEVENS POINT — The Stevens Point Special Plan Commission unanimously approved right-of-way plats and relocation orders for a segment of the Business 51 reconstruction project during a July 20 meeting.
The approved request covers the project corridor stretching from Michigan Avenue to Rice Street. During the commission’s discussion, Director of Public Works, Scott Beduhn confirmed that the action solely establishes temporary limited easements required for construction. He clarified to the commissioners that the city will not make any permanent property acquisitions for this segment of the project, which is currently anticipated to undergo construction in 2027.
