Posted

STEVENS POINT — During the May 4 meeting, the Plan Commission approved a conditional use permit to allow Central Wisconsin Lutheran High School to operate a parochial high school located at 5225 Heffron Court.
The high school is looking to operate out of the building, which formerly housed Arrow Academy, for about five years, according to Principal Paul Gnan. After approximately five to ten years, they will look to build a new facility.
The Heffron Court property would only be used for grades 9 and 10, with a total enrollment of 10 to 15 students in the first year of operation. Students will be from both Portage and Wood County, with the goal to double student enrollment by its’ second year of operation.
The conditional use permit was unanimously approved and will head to the Common Council for further approval.
