Posted

PORTAGE COUNTY – The Portage County recount for County Board Supervisory District 19 concluded after the Board of Canvassers and tabulators met to hand count more than 900 ballots cast in the April 7 Spring Election in the specific reporting units that were petitioned.
The recount took place on Wednesday, April 15. The Board of Canvassers was assisted by four current and former municipal clerks who served as election tabulators, thoroughly examining election results.
The recount confirmed that the results reported on election night were accurate, and the winning candidate remains unchanged.
“This recount is a testament to the dedication of our local municipal clerks and poll workers throughout Portage County. We have plenty of experience in Portage County with recounts for spring elections. In 2022, we had a full county recount with the executive race and in 2024, three County Board Supervisory District recounts. This recount also affirms the accuracy and efficiency of the electronic equipment used within Portage County,” said Portage County Clerk Maria Davis.
