Driver injured in asphalt truck crash

TOWN OF SHARON — The driver of a commercial truck belonging to an asphalt maintenance company is seriously injured after a single vehicle crash.
On June 20 at 11:35 a.m., a 911 call reported a single vehicle accident on County Road Y in the Town of Sharon. The vehicle involved was hauling a liquid asphalt maintenance product which was spilling onto the roadway. A media release noted that the product is, “not considered a hazardous material and no threat to life or safety exist.” The spill was then contained by the Rosholt Fire Department.
Initial investigations showed that the driver failed to negotiate a curve while traveling northbound on County Road Y. The driver lost control and the vehicle then rolled over. The driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to Aspirus Hospital in Wausau for treatment.
