Firefighters injured during blaze

STEVENS POINT—On Nov. 20, at approximately 2:25 a.m., the Stevens Point Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 300 block of First Street N. in the City of Stevens Point.
During the course of operations, two responders sustained minor injuries. One was evaluated, treated and released from the hospital and both are expected to make a full recovery. No civilian injuries were reported.
Assistance from area Departments was provided by Plover Fire Department, Hull Fire Department, Dewey Fire Department, Stockton Fire Department, Amherst Fire District, and Rudolph Fire Department. The Stevens Point Police Department assisted with scene security and traffic control.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Stevens Point Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Team.
