Stevens Point Police Report

• July 24 – An officer took a report regarding a retail theft at Stevens Point Liquor on Stanley Street.
• July 24 – Two individuals informed an officer that a man had been driving by their residence on Heffron Street and videotaping. They informed the officer the man had a filed no contact order with the individuals.
• July 24 – A 19-year-old man attempted to gain entry into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment. He also reportedly rode his bike near her apartment despite having no business in the area. An officer spoke with the suspect and mailed him a letter warning him of stalking.
• July 24 – A 35-year-old man entered the Northside BP on Division Street and began saying inappropriate things. He was asked to leave which made him angry, leading to the man making vague threats to the BP employee.
• July 24 – A 27-year-old woman reported she was “nicked” by a vehicle that left bruising.
• July 25 – Officers observed a man at a bar that was taking photos of women. When officers made contact with the man about driving concerns, he stated he did not take photos of women but instead had photographed the bar which he claimed was “cool.”
• July 25 – A man was found near Water Street and River View Avenue with a head wound and blood. A witness observed a vehicle possibly fleeing the scene.
• July 25 – A physical fight broke out at Buffy’s on Second Street. One man had been knocked out to the point of unconsciousness, but began to regain consciousness as officers arrived to the scene. The suspect denied being a part of the fight, but witness statements contradicted his story.
• July 25 – A very intoxicated woman was found on Oak Street to be playing with a kitten. The woman was not wearing pants or underwear and reportedly was going to the bathroom in the front yard of a residence. The woman refused to put pants on, and ultimately officers tied a shirt around the woman for privacy.
• July 25 – A 33-year-old man was arrested on West Harding Avenue for OWI.
• July 25 – A man made a complaint about another man at Willow Brooke smoking outside his room. He stated this caused him emotional and physical stress that prevented him from being able to defecate. Officers advised the man to report these concerns to Portage County Health and Human Services.
• July 26 – A 29-year-old man reported his neighbor’s dog killed three of his chickens.
• July 27 – An officer was dispatched to Iverson Park for an unresponsive male lying in the grass. The officer made contact with the 18-year-old man who stated he was sleeping. He was later identified and blew a 0.08 on the PBT.
• July 27 – A mother made threats to kill her adult son and his girlfriend.
• July 27 – A man was reported to be passed out on a city bus. Officers found the 61-year-old man to be intoxicated and in possession of alcohol, which was against his probation. His probation officers asked the officers to dispose of the booze and inform the man that he would need to meet with his probation officer the following day. The same man was later found to be rolling around in the grass near Festival Foods. He was then arrested.
• July 27 – A bicycle was reported stolen from a College Avenue address.
• July 27 – A break in was reported at a Water Street residence that resulted in missing money.
• July 28 – Officers investigated a property crime at Worzalla Publishing Company, however the victims did not want to press charges.
• July 28 – A bicyclist was upset about a woman’s driving and followed her into the parking lot of Asian Market on Stanley Street. The bicyclist began shouting threats at the woman while she was still in her car.
• July 28 – Hardee’s on Church Street reported broken glass in their parking lot.
• July 28 – A 26-year-old man got into a verbal altercation with his girlfriend. He was upset that she had gotten a ride from someone else. The man then recklessly drove down Ellis Street, popped his tires on curbs, and smashed out the windows of a vehicle. He was arrested on multiple charges.
• July 28 – A man reported there were suspicious individuals with baseball bats walking near Centerpoint Drive and Third Street.
• July 29 – Officers discovered multiple empty storage units at Home Town Storage were being used for sleeping areas. A number of units were left open with trash inside of them, granola bars, drinks, and living areas that were recently occupied.
• July 30 – An officer discovered a man sleeping in a garage on Madison Street. The man stated he did not have permission to be there and moved along. A broken window was also discovered on the property and documented.
• July 30 – A complaint about two individuals sleeping near the Clark Street Bridge led to a 38-year-old woman being arrested on a probation warrant.
• July 30 – Officers responded to a Union Street address for a theft of $4,270 worth of jewelry and $340 worth of cash. The suspect was later arrested.
• July 30 – A man reported he found damage to his truck that looked like a bullet possibly could have been shot through his driver’s side mirror.
• July 30 – A woman stated items were stolen from her backpack while she was sleeping behind the bus stop at Main Street and Strongs Avenue. She stated she was missing eight Adderall pills.
• July 30 – A woman was issued a trespassing citation after she was reported to be knocking on windows on Minnesota Avenue. The woman refused to take the citation and walked away.
• July 31 – A 21-year-old man was arrested in The Square after a physical altercation occurred.
