New London Irish win in shutout

Wittenberg-The New London Irish took on Wittenberg in BABA play on July 24.

The Irish bats got hot in the second inning as Austin Warren put his team up with ground ball single to bring in the first run. Warren came in to score later in the inning on a passed ball and Tyler Gerrits drove in a run with a pop fly that gave

New London a 3-0 lead. A runner scored on an error as the Irish went up 4-0.
Ethan Hertzfeldt drove in two runs with a double to give New London the 6-0 advantage in the bottom of the seventh inning, and Ethan Bergen drove in a run on a single to give the Irish another run.

Warren continued the onslaught for New London as he drove in two runs with a double and Warren drove in the 10th run of the game with a single and finished off the game due to the 10 run rule.

Mike Helsten pitched all seven innings allowing only two hits and striking out 10 batters.
